It was announced today that one more childhood memory will be just that...a childhood memory (and an adulthood memory too I suppose.)  Today, Bob Barker announced that he is going to retire from hosting my all-time favorite TV game show, The Price is Right.  It's pretty incredible to hear about people who are in the same profession/job for 35 years as he has.  So, thanks for making my hookie days more enjoyable as a kid and come on down to retirement Bob; you've earned it.  Who's laughing now Happy Gilmore?

I ran across this article on the Statesman today.  Apparently, Arrested Development is still suffering from low viewership.  I'm not doing much to help the cause by watching it(mainly because I get sucked into Extreme Makeover Home Edition), but at least I can help spread the word.  There's even a petition to help save the show.  I hope for Tony's (who plays Buster and who also played Joseph Gordon in my all-time favorite Butcher's 15) sake that they turn it around.  He's a really funny dude and also a friend of Pete's.

I personally think it's great considering I don't stay up late enough to watch Conan any more.  By 2009 though, I might not be able to stay up late enough for the Tonight Show!

Just heard that J.J. Abrams (Director of Alias) is going to direct the new Mission Impossible.  Apparently, the fact that Tom Cruise is a big fan of the show helped land Abrams the job.  Here's an article about it.    It should have a better feel than the John Woo installation last go-around.  Don't get me wrong;  I love exploding things...especially exploding sunglasses.  Who doesn't?  But, I think that the 3rd one will be a little heavier on story line.  I hope.  I also hope he doesn't ever leave Alias.  Yikes!

Last night, Jan and I were watching the Simpsons and I have to say that I saw one of my favorite episodes.  It was the one where they did the Behind the Music spoof and did Behind the Laughter.  It merged two of my favorite shows into one, which is no easy feat.  Not only did it do that, but Willie Nelson had a big role in this episode as well.  Nice!  Anyone else seen this one?

Then, to top things off, last night I dreamed in cartoon!  I'm not sure if I've done that, but I'm sure it had something to do with watching the Simpson's the last thing during the day.  Does this mean something, dreaming in cartoon?  Am I getting back some of my “creativeness” that I seem to have left in my childhood?

Jan and I have been watching the DVD's of season one of Alias over the past few weeks.  Since we both started watching the show towards the end of season one, it has been like watching all new Alias episodes each time - that's a good thing.  They have been really incredible and it has been interesting to see things that happened in the previous seasons that have an effect on what is going on in the show now.  For instance, last night we watched two episodes: “The Box” part 1 and 2.  This one was like no other episode it seemed as Quintin Taranatino was introduced as a character that tried to infiltrate SD6, get some of the Rumbaldi devices, and take out Sloan in the process.  The whole two episodes felt like on whole movie, because they were so good.

We still have two whole disks to go which I'm excited about.  The challenging part is going back and forth between the current episodes and those of season one.  But it forces me to pay closer to attention to more of the details of the show.  I used to just like the bigger picture aspects of the show but now am enjoying following the details of the show, of which there are plenty.

If you don't watch Alias, you should rent season one and get caught up so you can start watching the new ones.  Season 2 was good as well, but I honestly think season 1 is better and I'm liking season 3 pretty well too.  It will be interesting to see where they go with everything as the season continues.
