Who We Are
Pete Coulter
Pete brings a wealth of web application programming
experience as well as the business know-how necessary to understand and model
the business processes of our clients. Before starting Flatland Media, Pete
worked as an independent consultant in New York City, working on projects
including online surveys, content management systems, customer relationship
management systems, and e-commerce solutions, as well as a major project for
the airline insurance industry.
Before trying out freelancing, Pete served as webmaster for Baylor University’s
Hankamer School of Business, where he also lectured several classes on Active
Server Pages and Microsoft SQL Server. While on staff at Baylor, he maintained
a network of servers ranging from Exchange Server to Computer Based Training,
while individually rewriting the entire content management system using
Microsoft’s .NET Platform.
Before venturing into the world of .NET, Pete developed ASP applications for
seven years, while earning a BBA and an MBA in accounting and information
systems.
Mark Miller
Mark is always at the top of the list of Flatland Media
collaborators. He and Pete have worked on many projects together
dating back to their college internship at Professional Datasolutions,
Inc. Mark provides solid software development expertise backed by over 5
years of experience developing enterprise-level applications. Designing and
tuning multi-terabyte database backends and high-traffic, data-rich web and
smart client front-ends has given him the kind of expertise to tackle a project
of any size. While primarily working within the realm of the Common Language
Runtime in C#, VB.NET, and Managed C++, Mark's expertise extends into many
areas from technologies like COM and Java, into more low-level technologies
like standard C and C++, and across into the Unix world. Before becoming a
Flatland Media collaborator, Mark worked in the Semiconductor Industry managing
enourmous sets of test data and providing rich, high-performance reporting
tools. His background in Electrical Engineering gives him a deep understanding
of current technologies and how to leverage them effectively to solve problems.
